Current Opportunities

Part-Time Community Service Officer (CSO). 

The City of Ramsey is seeking a part-time Community Service Officer (CSO).  The schedule is approximately twenty-five hours per week; there is flexibility within the Monday – Friday daytime schedule (hours & days worked) to accommodate college classes, subject to supervisor approval.  This is a uniformed, non-sworn position responsible for the following work:  perform animal control duties; code enforcement activities; provide support services to patrol officers; perform administrative errands; assist with vehicle maintenance & repairs; receive & investigate ordinance complaints & document findings; and assist with crime prevention issues.  The 2017 starting wage is $18.83/hour.  **Please note that this is an AFSCME union position.**

Applicants must possess the following: 1) a high school diploma or equivalent; 2) a valid driver’s license in good standing; 3) be First Aid or C.P.R certified, or able to acquire an equivalent level of certification within six months of hire; 4) have computer experience using Microsoft products; 5) pass the criminal history check; 6) pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.

At this time the City is accepting applications for its boards and commissions.

There are current openings on the Planning Commission; however applications are being accepted for all commissions and will be kept on file for one year. New terms will begin on April 1, 2017 and are typically four year terms, with the exception of the Economic Development Authority which has six year terms.

Nothing more than an interest in the community and the ability to commit your time is required.  Serving on a board or commission is an excellent way to meet other residents and to contribute in a very meaningful way to your community.

The City also has a Charter Commission.  If you are interested in learning more about the Charter Commission please contact City Clerk Jo Thieling at 763-433-9840.

To be considered for a seat on the board or commission of your choosing, please submit an application by February 21, 2017, to the City of Ramsey, Human Resources, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, MN 55303. Please feel free to include a resume with your application; however, a resume will not be accepted in lieu of a completed City application.
