Summer Recycling Event

Ramsey's Summer Recycling Event will be Saturday, July 27, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Ramsey Public Works Campus, 14100 Jaspar St. NW. Acceptable materials include appliances, tires, fluorescent blubs, mattresses and box springs, carpet, electronics and batteries for a nominal fee ($0.50 to $35.00 depending on item). Cash and checks are accepted. Textiles, scrap metal, used oil and other standard household materials like food and beverage glass containers, aluminum, steel and tin cans, newspapers, magazines and cardboard as well as plastic bottles, tubs and lids can be recycled at no charge.

Free document shredding is also available. Please remove staples, paper clips and/or rubber bands. No 3-ring binders please. There is a limit of three 12" x 12" x 24" boxes per vehicle.

Certain road accesses may be temporarily closed during the event for traffic control purposes. At certain times during the recycling events, you may experience a short waiting time due to heavy traffic. The following is the order in which materials will be unloaded at the event, please load your vehicle accordingly:

  • Used oil, oil filters and antifreeze
  • Textiles
  • Paper shredding
  • Carpet
  • Scrap metal and curbside recyclables
  • Tires
  • Fluorescent bulbs & batteries
  • Electronics
  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Appliances

Materials NOT accepted include: garbage of any kind, yard and tree waste, window/door glass panes, plastic containers > 1 gallon, construction debris, paint, or other household hazardous waste materials and furniture (other than mattresses and box springs). For more information, call 763-433-9817.
