Ramsey Wants You – Get Involved – Serve as an Advisor to the City Council
The City of Ramsey is accepting applications for its advisory commissions. City advisory commissions include the Economic Development Authority, Environmental Policy Board, Parks and Recreation Commission and the Planning Commission. The purpose of an advisory commission is to make specific recommendations to the City Council on current issues facing the City.
Online applications are being accepted for all commissions. You may also call Human Resources at 763-433-9842 for additional information.
Advisory commission seats are open until filled; however, the first review of applications is scheduled for February 22, 2019, followed by interviews and the start of new terms. To be considered for a seat on the board or commission of your choice, please submit an online application by February 22, 2019.
The Charter Commission is like a standing constitutional convention. It has the power to propose charter changes at any time.
The primary objective of the Economic Development Authority is to aid, assist and promote the growth and expansion of commercial, retail and industrial development in the City of Ramsey.
The primary objective of the Environmental Policy Board is to review, consider, initiate and recommend to the City Council such policies, plans or projects, which will enhance and preserve the natural environment of the City.
The primary objective of the Park and Recreation Commission is to monitor and reflect the attitudes and concerns of the citizens of Ramsey relative to the park system and recreation programs, and to advise the City Council of citizen attitudes and policy matters relevant to the park and recreation function in Ramsey.
The primary objective of the Planning Commission is to advise the City Council on land use concerns. In addition, the Planning Commission shall serve as the planning agency and shall have the powers and duties given such agencies by state statute.
